Motley Crue-who are they?-American Glam Rock

Mötley Crüe is an American band Glam metal formed in 1981 in Los Angeles, California by bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee that later were he joined guitarist Mick Mars and singer Vince Neil, with more than 25 million copies sold only in United States and more than 80 million worldwide, it is considered one of the most important bands of the 'glam' scene both in the 1980s as at present and as one of the most influential in the scene mundial.

The band has had several changes during its career, Vince Neil, was released in 1992 and was replaced by John Corabi, and Tommy Lee was released in 1999 and was replaced by Randy Castillo. Two albums without all the original members were only recorded. The band had a great success in the 1980s as one of the largest metal Glam exponents and that helped in the popularity of that genre with his first two albums Too Fast 1981 Love and Shout for at the Devil 1983. Highlighted with songs as "Shout at the Devil», «Home Sweet Home», ' Girls, Girls, Girls "," smokin' ' in the Boys Room ","Wild Side","Kickstart My Heart"and"Dr. Feelgood"among others. The most successful albums of Mötley Crüe were during the 1980s, which became one of the largest in the glam metal style bands, that it was during this same decade broke out glam metal/hair metal, Mötley Crüe contributed with the above mentioned already Too Fast for Love (1981), Shout at the Devil (1983). Theatre of Pain (1985) and Girls, Girls, Girls (1987)this became one of the most popular glam metal bands in the years 1980.

In 1989 after having entered rehabilitation and be sober, released their album Dr. Feelgood, their only number 1 album and the most successful of the band to date. On October 14 of that year Dr. Feelgood became his only no. 1 album, and stayed on the Billboard Top 100 for 109 weeks after its lanzamiento.with Dr. Feelgood band was nominated for 2 American Music Awards in the category of "Best heavy metal/hard rock album", was once in 1990 and another in 1991where they only won in 1991.

Thanks to this album Mötley Crüe won first prize. Throughout their career, the band has been nominated several times at the American Music Awards, Grammy Awards, and the MTV Video Music Awards, this being the only time in which they won. In the early 1990s, the band's popularity began to fall and also of glam metal, by the popularity of the new genus in that then, «Grunge». Vocalist Vince Neil announced that he was leaving the band. Nikki Sixx says that Vince resigned, while Vince says that he was fired. The band released the album Mötley Crüe (1994), was the first and only album by the band with vocalist John Corabi, this album compared with those who had been released earlier, had been a commercial failure, as well as their next album Generation Swine (1997).

In the year 2000, the band released New Tattoo, this album not involved the original drummer Tommy Lee, that a year earlier had left the band to pursue a career as a solo artist, and he was replaced by Randy Castillo, who came to play the drums with Ozzy Osbourne. In this album the band again showed sound glam that gave them great commercial success in the 1980s. In 2006, Mötley Crüe was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Currently the members of the band are best known for their hard lifestyles in which they live.

All members have had too many and various problems with the law, have spent time in prison, suffering from alcoholism, major addictions to drugs, had countless adventures with women, and are heavily tattooed. Their ninth Studio album, Saints of Los Angeles, was released on June 24, 2008, is on this album the original formation of the band, currently engaged are writing new material for their next album.
